My name is Christoph Donath, born in former East Berlin in autumn of 1974 ( capital of the defunct GDR - the GDR was a marxist country in central Europe from 1949 to 1989 - also known as East Germany ). My entire family moved to former West Berlin in 1977 ( part of West Germany ) due to the lack of freedom in the east german state, looking for a brighter future in freedom - like much others who left that communist country before and behind us.

Finally we arrived in Spain at Dec. 31st. 1981 ( I was 7 years old ) and since them I am living here ( with some breaks due to studying / working in other countries ).

I am fluent in 3 languages ( english, spanish and german ). I am watching at international politics since young years and am always interested on international affairs, specially in Africa / America.

I started to work in the hospitality industry ( travel ) and changed later into the internet industry without leaving the tourism and hospitality sector. I am investing in generic domain names and developing websites. Currently I am developing my geo domain names.

I am a openminded, internationally focussed individual since the beginning and I love to travel, to know other cultures, individuals, learning and trying always new things. A internationalist is the counterpart of a nationalist, you guessed it right, but being a internationalist is much more than that. A internationalist is a individual who isn´t determining or linking his roots within a certain country or culture of origin ( like place of birth ). A internationalist cares about global matters and challenges and as you may know, this world as of today is full of challenges but also big chances. A internationalist is always concerned about the betterment of the world and yes, there are big chances to be a part of the betterment of this world, thanks to the fantastic opportunities the internet offers us as of today regarding domain names.

A domainer is a investor in generic domain names, domains are also known as web addresses. People often confuses us with cybersquatters - cybersquatters are people who are infringing trademark rights with the purpose to make a profit out of this without the consent of the trademark holder ( or without his knowledge ), this is illegal and can be punished with high fines. A domainer is the counterpart of a cybersquatter - a domainer doesn´t never infrige trademark rights - because a domainer always focuses into generic domain names ( by buying, selling, developing, monetizing them ) Generic domain names are based on descriptive words ( or combinations of descriptive words ) used by the general public - these cannot be trademarked due to the fact being generic words, like hotel, sex, flight, car or money.
